TOP:
The three leaders: law, war, and religion are located on the top.
SECOND:
Then the men with the council of 500, assembly, and 3 ephors among the more important citizens can be found.
THIRD:
Next, women and children are below the men. The woman are not citizens and are not allowed a vote in democracy. They are also not seen as equals in the eyes of the men. The job of a woman is to stay in the household and tend to the home while the men are out, and can not be a part of public issues. These women have the right to go to school though until they are 13 so they can learn the ways of housework.
FOURTH:
Furthermore, any outsiders in the city state are located below the women and children. These outsiders are not allowed in any means to be a part of any form of government because they are not native to the city state.
BOTTOM:
On the bottom are the slaves. These slaves are the property of Aresia and may be called into battle at any time. These slaves are treated below all classes of people, but shall not be stricken when disobeying the rules. If these slaves were stricken, it would be more commonplace to encourage such behavior around normal citizens, who may by chance look similar to a slave.
